24. Other comments:

  • Admire what you have done, best rec facilities anywhere

  • An all over park like in Oak Hills would be good

  • Appreciate close park, need pool

  • Appreciate the resources provided, concerned about keeping up with growth

  • Bike lanes

  • Buy land at 185/Springville and make it into a park, hot tub in public pools for adults only

  • Camouflage fences with shrubbery, buffers to sidewalk

  • Can’t individuals annex?

  • Cedar Hills lake algae problem could be helped by putting in wild rice

  • CedarMill crossing needs a cross walk across Barnes Rd

  • Concerned with lack of pedestrian walkways on major roads, lack of bike lanes

  • Connected trail system

  • Connection to Forest Heights trails needed

  • Consider on street bike trails & sidewalks as important part of rec. Need public art

  • Considering leaving Cedar Mill because of lack of parks

  • Continue good work

  • Does an excellent job maintaining facility

  • Don’t like current registration policy for out of district

  • Family sports teams

  • Focus on outdoor, linear parks

  • Frustrated park planning is such a low priority for Wa Co.

  • Get any land you can

  • Good job but strained facilities

  • Hazardous parking at Mitchell Park during baseball games

  • I really appreciate the services I receive as a rickety old person

  • I think thprd is great. I would like to see it expanded if at all possible.

  • I would like to see a bike land and sidewalk on NW Cornell Rd from Miller West to 113th in order to ride or walk to parks and trails.

  • Id green spaces and preserve them as development continues, agency coordination

  • Identify blocks of land and create a ballot measure to buy capital

  • Keep up the good work

  • Leave drinking fountains in Mitchell turned on, don't use pesticides

  • Like it easier to schedule private swim lessons, do not expand attention to home school activities

  • Linkages are key

  • Love the idea of parks, but taxes are becoming prohibitive for people on fixed incomes

  • Love THPRD

  • Love THRPD, keep up the excellent work

  • Lower class costs; make a discount for multiple siblings or multiple classes

  • Make parks prettier like Portland parks

  • Maximize field size, use space efficiently

  • Merge with Beaverton SD for joint facilities

  • Modern indoor/outdoor rink, another Bethany fountain area, food concessions

  • More hours at swim pools, always crowded

  • More neighborhood parks

  • More open space, less team sports

  • More open space, more picnic tables, preserve!!, need off leash dog areas, encourage people to use town centers and walk places

  • More options for working parents

  • Need a large facility like at Gabriel Park, developed land should have a % reserved for parks and schools

  • Need a place for teens to hang out

  • Need larger tracts of parks - not tiny little loops

  • Need more public open parks; need bike paths; all other facilities are very good

  • Need public way stations with restrooms, phones, water, etc.

  • Need to make developers provide and or pay for preservation

  • Never received park in the area like requested 25 yrs ago

  • New developments should be required to be part of THPRD

  • Northern boundary should be expanded to UGB

  • Not aware of current usage of facilities, are they cramped? Do we really need more buildings? Are classes full?

  • Offer reciprocal rights to use your facilities for people in neighboring districts

  • Only participate in adult sports leagues. It is a lot less expensive for me to pay out-of-district fees than to pay the hundreds of dollars in property taxes to be in-district. However, if there were facilities in the Cedar Mill area, I might be more willing to be annexed.

  • Out of district residents should be allowed to pay an annual fee to be considered in district

  • Parks and greenbelts are important to communities

  • Parks up here are a joke, thoroughly inadequate

  • Performing arts area

  • THPRD is an asset to our area in quality of life

  • THPRD is great but more facilities are needed

  • Prefer open green space to rec center

  • Proactive leadership in annexing out of district areas; current "wait to be invited in" seems to inhibit the education of the out of district areas on benefits of THPRD

  • Publication specific to cedar mill

  • Rec center please

  • Senior center in the district is inadequate considering aging populations

  • Services need to be expanded, happy being in District

  • Sidewalks

  • Stay as rural as possible

  • Survey too long to for a shopper to stand to do

  • Surveys should be done for programs, some are cost prohibitive

  • SW Community Center at Gabriel Park is the best - should duplicate

  • Team up with school district

  • Team up with School District on new development on Teufel property off of Barnes Rd.

  • Thanks

  • Thanks for opportunity for input

  • Thanks for the survey

  • Thanks to thprd for all the wonderful opportunities-the whole family loves it.

  • The county and large companies should provide these since they are increasing through jobs

  • There are 3 open tracts of land bordering McDaniel for sale

  • There is a designated park in south drive in bluffs

  • There was an attached letter dated 8/17/00. Wants staff to review issues

  • Transform open space into recreation centers

  • Ultimately, out-of-district residents will probably not be able to use facilities, which fair since we don't pay. But, it is unfair also because we want to join but do not 75% majority to annex in.

  • Unacceptable that we live in the cedar mill area and are out of district

  • Want my area preserved, don't want buildings

  • We need a swim-tennis-rec facility in the Bonnie slope area

  • What are the plans for parks within all the development on Saltzman?

  • Why do in-district residents pay taxes and fees and out of district only pay fees. It seems they have the cost advantage

  • Will not vote for more bonds b/c we haven't been given what we were promised

  • Wonderful service to community
