Saltzman Road Construction Update

Current Activities
- Installation of utility conduits (power, phone, cable) along the east side of Saltzman Road, adjacent to the library and the Milltown Shopping Center (Walgreen/True Value Hardware).
- Installation of new storm pipe and structures along west side of Saltzman Road, between Dogwood Street and Westlawn Terrace.
- Installation of water valves and caps in preparation of beginning water line work.
- Continue with the relocation of Verizon facilities along the west side of Saltzman, just north of Dogwood (work being performed by Verizon’s contactor).
- Installation of new utility poles and line clearing along east side of Saltzman Road, north of St Pius X to Coleman Street (work being performed by PGE crews and their tree trimming contractor).
Upcoming Activities (2 weeks out)
- Continue with the installation of utility conduits along the east side of Saltzman, in front of the library and the Milltown Shopping Center (Walgreens/True Value Hardware).
- Complete installation of new storm pipe and structures along west side of Saltzman Road, between Dogwood Street and Westlawn Terrace.
- Adjustment of water vault structure just south of Burton, along the west side of Saltzman (work to be performed by Tualatin Valley Water District crews)
- Relocation of overhead utility lines and transfer of services along east side of Saltzman Road, north of St. Pius X to Coleman Street. Work for each utility will be performed by that utility’s crews or their contractor.
The project area has been designated a construction zone and the posted speed limit has been temporarily reduce to 25 mph between Cornell and the south approach of Bauer Woods Drive. All existing traffic restrictions remain in place, including turn restrictions and school speed zone.
Work Hours: 7:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday
Lane Restrictions: 9:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday thru Friday

Scope
This project is divided into two phases: Phase 1 is from NW Cornell Road to NW Bauer Woods Drive. Phase 2 is from NW Bauer Woods Drive to NW Thompson Road. At this time only Phase 1 has been funded and is scheduled for construction.
Scope (Phase 1)
The project includes the design, right-of-way acquisition, and construction of a 3-lane roadway (one travel lane in each direction with a center turn lane), including sidewalks, and bike lanes. Other improvements include storm drainage, illumination and utility upgrades. Also included are new traffic signals planned at NW Dogwood Street and at NW 128th Terrace.
